Mechanical Design Manager

K-One Technology Bhd. and its subsidiaries, jointly known as the K-One Group, is a technology solution provider listed on Bursa Malaysia. It is principally an innovator, designer and manufacturer of   mobile phone accessories, consumer electronic lifestyle products, IoT products, healthcare/medical devices, computer peripherals, surveillance/security gadgets, industrial products and automotive aggregates, primarily for multinationals worldwide. In view of our expansion, we are seeking a suitably qualified candidate to fill the following position:

Responsibilities:

  • To guide and coach design team in performing critical design and to lead in design review.
  • To manage design team resources and capabilities in meeting project requirements and development of in-house products.
  • To manage the mechanical design team in carrying out product design.
  • To support product prototyping, pilot run, evaluation, reliability test and ensure compliance to required safety standards or approvals.
  • To assist with vendor management to achieve project key performance indicators such as cost, engineering performance and lead-time.
  • To assist Director to lead, manage and provide technology road map, R, D&D capital investment justification and spearhead product innovations.
  • To comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485 and/or ISO/TS 16949 requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in managerial position and  8 years of relevant working experience in mechanical design of either telecommunication devices, medical devices, audio visual products or computer peripherals or automotive related products.
  • Experience or knowledge in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) such as stress analysis, heat transfer and mold flow analysis.
  • Hands on experience in 3D CAD skills, preferably Unigraphics/Solidworks.
  • Design background with experience in concept integration, structural and cosmetic design, plastic molding part, metal stamping and die casting would be an added advantage.
  • Mature, analytical mind, result oriented, innovative and willing to take new challenges.
  • Possess good communication skills and an excellent team player.
